As he was waiting to meet a ranger, however, he decided it might be best to not greet his guide dripping wet. Instead, he shifted uncomfortably in his jeans and sweatervest, obsessively checking behind him to see if anyone was coming. He’d said he’d meet the ranger on the trail leading up from the haphazard dirt and gravel parking lot, but Maji had caught the scent of fresh grass and water and demanded they forge on ahead. He could still see the trail from where he stood, and had left a note – but he didn’t want to miss the opportunity to complete his research simply because he wasn’t paying attention. He was planning on observing pokemon in the wild, from a safe distance – and, should everything be good to go, take a few blood samples to compare to those of human-paired soulmates. Truth be told, the field work scared him a little (though he’d never show it). He wasn’t used to being around wild pokemon, let alone used to battling them. He didn’t envy trainers; their jobs seemed so much harder compared to his. Suddenly remembering the Eevee his mother had gifted him with, Tyge retrieved the young normal-type’s pokeball from his waist and released the creature. The tiny fox-like pokemon stretched happily, bushy tail wagging, before turning to pounce on Tyge’s foot. ”Easy there, Muto.” ( Aww, Tyge, he’s adorable. You’re going to pick up so many chicks with him~ ) Tyge bit back a laugh and watched the Eevee roll in the soft grasses. He’d mentioned his growing worries about Unifi to his mother, who had suggested he take up training part-time for self defense. When Tyge had replied that he had no idea how to go about getting a pokemon, she took it upon herself to purchase Muto from a reputable breeder. ”Yeah. Eventually we’re gonna’ have to train him… Maybe you could mimic some easy battles to help him out? Eh, I have no idea what I’m doing.” ( It can’t be that hard. They have schools and stuff. ) ”Mhm. We’ll get to that later, though – Where’s that ranger?” |
