"Ghoooost! Ghost in the graveyard!"
The shocked young man cleared the gates of the City of the Dead just in time to hear the cackling die away into silence. The graveyard was cloaked in a thick mist that was uncommon for a place as close to the Wastes as Erennal Town. However, deep within the Graveyard, two Pokemon were having a blast.
The Banette cupped her little hands around her mouth and released a loud, inhuman screech without ever seeming to open her mouth. The Honchkrow sitting on a large statue a couple rows back cackled, flapping his wings, stirring up the thick haze surrounding him.
"Did you see that one run?" the Banette hissed, clapping its tiny hands together in sick delight. "He didn't even see us coming! Ahahaha!"
"Just be quiet, will you?!" the Honchkrow snapped, narrowing its eyes. "Last thing we want is to be found out! Then someone might try to catch us!"
The Banette frowned lightly, crossing her arms. "Fine, but you're the one making most of the nose with all of that cawing."
"What was that?!"
The Banette sighed, rolling her eyes and turning away from the Honchkrow slightly. "Nothing..."

Ryou absolutely loved this city.
This was the only thought in his head as a human scream split the still night air. The people here were such fools! Ghosts, indeed. Granted, he looked a bit creepy in the middle of the night, with his purple hair, pale skin, and blood-red eyes... Actually, he had just proved his point. Only a few minutes earlier, he had popped out from behind one of the ancient buildings. Nearly gave some old man a heart attack. He had left in such a hurry that he had left a very expensive-looking silver watch behind... Playing absent-mindedly with his new found prize, Ryou scanned the graveyard. Not that it gave him the creeps, mind you. He was just curious, is all.
And his curiosity was soon rewarded when a freakishly inhuman screech echoed through the darkness. A sharp twist in his gut informed him that his soulmate wanted to shift into Pokemon form, but he pushed the feeling away stubbornly. There was nothing to be afraid of here. In fact, a Pokemon to defend him in the war to come wouldn't be such a bad idea. With this, the sickening feeling in his stomach subsided. Apparently his Darmanitan agreed with this point. Pushing himself away from his perch atop a crumbling tombstone, he made his way towards the noise. It never occurred to him that there might be danger; it just seemed like fun, to battle with some ghosts. At midnight. In a graveyard. Ryou had a twisted sense of fun.
Within a few moments, the sound of not one, but two Pokemon arguing reached his ears. Brilliant! Narrowing his eyes in the gloom, he could just barely make out their forms. One was obviously a bird, but the other, he couldn't quite seem to tell... Ah, well. It didn't really matter. A Pokemon was a Pokemon, after all, and he had three Pokeballs to spare. "Good evening, gentlemen." His voice, surprisingly jolly for the gloomy atmosphere, seemed to hang in the air for a few seconds. "Any particular reason that you scared that poor man so badly?" Other than the fact that it was hilarious, he added silently to himself. He could feel the Darmanitan stirring within him, preparing itself for a fight. Not that he minded, really. The love of fighting was one of the few things that human and soulmate shared.
A small, expectant grin lighted up his face, not that the Pokemon could see it. Crossing his arms, he tapped his foot gently, awaiting a response.[/style] | [atrb=style, width: 100px; vertical-align: top;][style=border: 5px solid transparent; opacity: 0.7] [/style] | [atrb=style, background: #161616; padding: 8px;-webkit-border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.6][style=height: 50px; width: 250px;font: 9px Tahoma; padding-right: 10px; text-align: justify; color: c0c0c0;]Wordcount: 420. It was indeed the ghosting hour, as another shady character levitated above the scene. Oh, such child's play, scaring humans. It reminded the ghost of times long gone, when he had been able to convince his human that it was fun. These days, Weasel was far too serious to play around. The man longed of power.
And frankly, the Gengar couldn't blame him. A grin crossed across the ghost's dark face, wondering how much fright the Banette could handle.
He swooped in low, wide glowing eyes popping up in front of Banette, accompanied by a nasty grin. "Boo." He sneered.
{ Gengar used Scary Face! }
Then he turned to Ryu, eyes narrowing. What a brave human this was, out at haunting hour. The Gengar licked his tongue across his tongue, trying to see how the human would react.
OOC:: Considering it's an open thread, I'll join to mess things up a bit further. It's in the nature of a ghost, after all.
PS: Please remember that Ryu will most likely not be able to identify the Gengar as Weasel's Shifter Soulmate.

"Did you hear that?"
Someone was entering the Graveyard. The Banette jerked her head off in the sound of someone entering through the side gate to the graveyard, her red eyes flashing. She put her hands around her mouth, ready to let loose another screech, when the sound of a voice, surprisingly cool for someone they were trying to scare, sounded out of the mist.
...Gentlemen? While the Honchkrow seemed flattered by the comment, the Banette, obviously not a gentleman, seemed to take offense. With that, she closed her eyes, forcibly projecting a much larger, much scarier copy of herself down on the ground directly below the tall obelisk on which she was perched. The Honchkrow only flapped his wings, stirring up the haze, making it all the thicker.
However, the Banette wasn't expecting to be joined by a third Pokemon...much less another ghost.
Seeing the Gengar appear right in front of her, she opened one eye, jumping slightly at the sudden appearance of the third Pokemon. However, she only gave a grin, before pointing down toward the human, his outline just barely visible through the thick haze. With that, the Banette returned to controlling her Night Shade doppelganger, intent on scaring this insulting human out of the graveyard.

He had been expecting a move like this from a prankster like a ghost-type. It was only an attempt to scare him off, and probably didn’t mean anything. Although, come to think of it, the Pokemon seemed pretty pissed at him. It was probably a female, just his luck. He loosened his shiny new watch, preparing to bargain with the duo. Honchcrow liked shiny things, didn’t they? Maybe it could be a sort of peace offering, and he could capture the two without a fight…
Suddenly, a massive purple beast popped up, seemingly out of nowhere. The shifter jerked backwards, startled, and that was all that the Pokemon inside of him needed. His face contorted briefly in pain and a bright light began to glow around him. Some shifters claimed that the change was painless, but for someone who struggled against it so fiercely, it was painfully slow. It seemed to take forever, and it was several seconds before the shift was complete and a massive Darmanitan stood in Ryou’s place. It howled in triumph- Ryou was getting better at staying human, and the Pokemon had not taken control of their shared body in a while. Bringing its massive arms in front of itself, it conjured a bright ball of light and released it into the air.
Darmanitan used Sunny Day!
The affect was in place almost immediately. The bright light, acting like a sun in the dark graveyard, soon began to drive away the gloom. Not only could the Pokemon see now, but the warmth of the light was quickly seeping into its thick pelt. Its fire-type moves would be even more painful now, it knew. Cracking its knuckles in anticipation, it blinked confidently at the trio of Pokemon before it. Knocking all three of them out with one hit would surely e easy. With the combination of Sunny Day and Sheer Force, one good Flare Blitz should take care of the ghosts.
And, best of all, it would be Ryou who suffered the pain of the recoil, once they shifted back to human.
A smug grin lit up the massive Pokemon’s face. This situation was win-win. All the fire-type had to do now was win the fight. Despite the fact that it was outnumbered three-to-one, the possibility that it could loose never crossed its mind… Instead, it waggled its fingers at the other Pokemon, a universal symbol of “come and get me!”[/style] | [atrb=style, width: 100px; vertical-align: top;][style=border: 5px solid transparent; opacity: 0.7] [/style] | [atrb=style, background: #161616; padding: 8px;-webkit-border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.6][style=height: 50px; width: 250px;font: 9px Tahoma; padding-right: 10px; text-align: justify; color: c0c0c0;]Wordcount: 415 Notes: haha. this will be fun. Gengar turned at the other two pokemon. He didn't feel much like fighting the human. But then he shifted, turning into a massive ape. Interesting. It had been a long time since he had seen someone do that trick.
The Gengar turned towards the other two. "What do you say? Lets teach the ape to mess around on unknown territory?" He offered with a nasty smirk, rubbing his hands together to prepare a Shadow Ball.
Waiting for the other two, he aimed to leap the ball at Ryuu the moment the other two had prepared their attacks.

As the human shifted in the large Darmanitan, the two troublemaking Pokemon looked at one another, obviously confused.
"A Pokemon? But he was a human not a second ago!"
The Honchkrow ruffled his feathers, glaring down at the Darmanitan. "A shifter. I've heard of them. But it's nothing we can't deal with, right?" it cawed, getting a nod from his companion.
Neither of them, however, were expecting the Darmanitan to light the graveyard up.
Though the haze was still thick, it was much brighter, making the Banette cringe visibly, her arms shielding her eyes, while the Honchkrow angled his head downward slightly, the wide brim of his feathered "hat" shielding his eyes well enough.
However, the Gengar that had tried to give the Banette a scare earlier seemed to be on their side now. He was offering a partnership to help rid them of the pesky Darmanitan. Giving a grin, the Banette nodded, and then Honchkrow, as well, opened one wing, signaling that he, too, was ready.
Seeing the Gengar prepare his attack, the Banette held her hands a short distance apart, charging up her own Shadow Ball, while the Honchkrow crowed loudly, charging up a Confuse Ray.
Seeing the Gengar prepared to unleash his own attack, the Honchkrow released his Confuse Ray first, quickly followed by the Banette's Shadow Ball.
Since they had the high ground, sitting atop the taller monuments in the graveyard, the Darmanitan couldn't do much unless he also had a special attack in his arsenal.

Daichi had been on duty that night, clothed in his own style, he wasn't wearing the ranger uniform, like he should of been. Sure, he knew people back at the base would yell at him for it later, but hey, he was more comfortable wearing what he was. He wore camo, with a green jacket over his shoulders like always left unzipped and a plain white t-shirt underneath. His headband around his head as normal. Daichi, had heard the screaming people, so he had come to investigate. Amerante as normal thought the male was over reacting.
"Daichi..calm down, you wont be able to help unless you do that. Keep a calm head." she said to the male. Daichi sighed and took her on her word. After all, Daichi owed the female for a lot, even though she was his soulmate she had saved him all those years ago. Daichi still owed her for that. Upon interrogating the man, Daichi had found out of someone, or rather something scaring people away from the graveyard. Daichi, without fear, or maybe a little bit of it, made his way within the graveyard.
However, as he entered a bright light caught his eyes, as he saw a human shape become that of a pokemon. Daichi was confused for a moment and stood blankly. "He must be a shifter, " |
[/color] Amerante replied in his stead. "A what?" Daichi said looking back at her. Amerante sighed. "Do you not pay attention during meetings at all?" she asked. At that Daichi seemed to blush a bit. She sighed and continue. "Shifters are people whose soulmates don't fully form. instead they shift from pokemon to human, both with there own style of doing it. "[/color] she said. Daichi nodded slowly. Well, that was something he was probably going to have to look up later. However, as his eyes looked back to all of it , it seemed that the shifter guy was being attacked, by not one, or two, but THREE pokemon at once. Well, he guess he knew who the troublemakers where. As the three released their attacks, Daichi acted. "Amerante! Use reflect!" he called. The psychic type teleported in front of the shifter as a shield came up. Thankfully just in time to. It would send the three pokemon's attacks right back at them, hopefully enough time for the shifter to act. Daichi came up beside the pokemon. His eyes moved to it. He gave it a thumbs up sign. "Guess we can have a fair fight now.. " he said with a smile. His hand was on his back pocket, where his styler was located. If things really got out of hand, he guessed he could always capture them, or.. he had always wanted to get a few other pokemon other than Amerante, but then again, he wasn't sure. He was excelled at battling, despite being a ranger, but with unifi, he couldn't just capture their pokemon with a styler. If it came down to it, it would probably be battles. How... predictable. The Darmanitan grinned to itself, before clenching one hand into a massive fist. If it could hit the ball of dark energy at just the right time, it would probably burst. With a bright flash, its hand ignited in flickering flames as the ape prepared a Fire Punch. One... Two...
"Amerante! Use reflect!"
Wait. What?! The ape, startled, jerked backward. The flames decorating its arm sputtered and died as the creature turned to stare at its rescuer. Spluttering in indignity, the Pokemon glared at the strange green psychic-type. It didn't need help! It frowned slightly. This would mess up its battle-plan! Turning back to the trio of ghosts, it was just in time to see a pair of Shadow Balls heading straight for it. It jerked back, knowing that there wasn't time to dodge... But then, the attacks bounced right off of the other Pokemon's Reflect. Hmm. Perhaps this new partner wasn't such a bad thing, after all... Feeling safe behind the crystal barrier, the Darmanitan did the first thing that came to mind: stick its tongue out at its opponents.
Darmanitan used Taunt!
Psh. Those ghosts would be seeing red if they got hit by their own attacks. The Darmanitan would see if its opponents could keep their composure. The moment they came down from atop those tombstones... It prepared another Fire Punch, grinning in anticipation, all thoughts of its new human partner temporarily forgotten. And then, of course, the Confuse Ray struck. Reflect didn't have an affect on status attacks and, not being the brightest of creatures, the fact had slipped its mind. Staggering backward, it blinked and sat down, not quite sure what it was doing. There was a stranger, a green Pokemon, standing in front of it. Maybe they were fighting? The Gengar narrowed his eyes. Oh poop, a psychic bother. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was those smart-guys. But he had just the thing for the Gardevoir.
"Take care of the monkey-boy. I'll handle this one." He stated. Normally, he would have blended in with the shadows to sneak up on the other. With the sun so bright up ahead, he decided to play around with the other. Considering the other was a soulmate, he knew best how to freak the trainer out. How to force him to surrender.
Gengar pointed one hand at his enemy while stabbing himself slowly in the chest with the other, dark matter leaking out. He'd cursed the enemy in an attempt to force them to surrender.
{ Gengar cut his own HP to Curse Garvevoir! }
OOC: Please take note that Shadow Ball's are special attacks, therefor Reflect doesn't really help. To block special attacks you need to use Light Screen. I hate having to be so picky, but it's basic pokemon rules.
PS: Remember to post the amount of rounds Sunny Day has been active.

Another? The Honchkrow was beginning to get annoyed with all of the goody-goodies attempting to ruin his night of fun. Flapping his wings, the large bird Pokemon took to the air, hovering over the Darmanitan and Gardevoir. Turning his gaze to the large Gengar, who offered to take care of the psychic Pokemon, the Honchkrow nodded before turning to Banette.
The little ghost Pokemon knew just what to do. Lifting off of the statue she was perched upon, she rubbed her hands together, a faint bluish glow forming between them. It formed into a small blue-white flame, which then multiplied into two...no, four...no, six. Six flames rotated around her slowly, and though they would have cast a ghastly light on the graveyard should it have been dark, the bright light prevented such a thing from happening.
Finally, the Banette let the little flames go, shooting them the Darmanitan's way, hoping to land at least one. Though they wouldn't do much damage initially, they sure would leave a nasty burn.
Meanwhile, the Honchkrow, still flying over the battle, focused in all of his dark energy. Nasty thoughts about the Darmanitan ruining his night filled his mind, and as the hatred built up, his body began to radiate with a dark energy, which he released as a large pulse that went in all directions. He made certain he angled it in just a way that the Gengar and Banette wouldn't be harmed, but the Darmanitan would be in the way, and, if it didn't hit him, the Gardevoir would be in the way, too.

Six little flames... Its head still spinning from the Confuse Ray, it couldn't quite figure out what to do. With no brilliant plan coming to mind, it simply lunged sideways, an attempt to get out of the way. It seemed to work, but sadly, this move brought the creature directly in the way of the Dark Pulse. The dark energy slapped the creature straight in the face, and it yelped. Glaring upward at the bird Pokemon, it lunged forward, hand already curling into a massive fist.
Darmanitan used Fire Punch!
The creature was obviously confused, as the flaming fist had no chance of hitting its target whatsoever. The Honchcrow, from its perch atop a tombstone, was completely unreachable. However, the attack slammed into the rock with such force that it shook unsteadily. A crack or two managed to find their way up the ancient stone. Though the attack didn't hit, maybe it stood a chance at shaking the ghost loose... The fire-type smiled, fairly proud of itself for coming up with a plan. It was able to keep a straight face for multiple moments before the pain reached its tiny brain. It took a step back, shaking its hand and howling loudly. Then again, maybe this wasn't the best idea. Holding its injured arm out in front of it, the Pokemon glared at the Honchcrow, eyes still slightly glazed from the Confuse Ray. The Gengar was content teasing and bothering his enemy, taking his well time with him. Deciding the other was staying back and being defensive for now, he turned back to the other two who were busy with the shifter.
He sat down beside Honchcrow on the branch, looking down at the big ape. "You should give up. Brute strength doesn't work against us ghosts." He mused with a nasty grin.
