Tsholofelo Xenocrates Lorelei When you had no home to go to at the end of the day- no bed to sprawl out on, no quilt to cover you and keep you warm- you tended to steal a nap wherever and whenever you found a place that was quiet and empty. Or even just quiet. For Lorelei, it happened to be in the City of the Dead this time around. She wasn't afraid of the graveyard, nor was she afraid of sleeping here overnight. So, despite the protests of her soulmate, Nostalgia, Lorelei found the softest piece of ground that she could and then curled up into a ball. Within minutes, the blue-haired teen was asleep.
Nostalgia was less prone to dozing. It wasn't the fact that he wasn't tired that kept him awake; in fact, he was more exhausted than Lorelei was. But that was because whenever she slept, it was never in a safe place, and so the Liepard always stayed awake most of the night to keep guard. This night was no different; he didn't plan to catch a wink of sleep in a place such as this. The Pokemon that lived here were none too friendly, the feline was sure of it; and the people who wandered around here at three in the morning surely couldn't be trustworthy, either.
A cold fall wind was blowing, though it was inconsistent. It came and it went, like father winter was sobbing, and his breaths came in random gasps. A few random clouds dotted the skies, blotching out the stars that, by this time, had just barely begun to fade away. The moon was a bright semi-circle, dimly lighting the tombstones of the City of the Dead. There was a line of pinkish light on the horizon, indicating that the sun would be making an appearance in an hour or so.
The Liepard's determination couldn't fight off the exhaustion that was deep-rooted in his mind and in his muscles. Not this time. Slowly and gently, he draped himself over Lorelei's lower body, serving to keep both of them warm and, hopefully, serving to keep Lorelei safe. Nostalgia didn't remember closing his eyes, but not more than fifteen minutes after his human soulmate was asleep, Nostalgia had fallen into the same state. A gentle snore emanating from the majestic cat.
(Srsly, that's one of the best posts I've come up with in a loooong time. I'm so proud of myself. Like, for realz.)

Dawn was approaching, it seemed. The Pokemon only had a little bit of time left before he would have to return to his hiding place for another day of sleeping. Drifting lazily across teh graveyard, the Duskull watched as he drifted past hidey-holes filled with several Pokemon--Rattata, Pidgey, Pidove, even one that housed a Pachirisu, Pichu, and two Emolga. They were all asleep, so peacefully asleep.
He wanted to give them a little scare. Drifting around, the little Duskull attempted waking the sleeping Pokemon by making loud noises and hideous faces, but none even stirred.
Feeling dejected at his failed attempt at having fun, the little Duskull was about to just return to his little hiding spot and turn in early when he noticed something on the ground.
"A human?"
The Duskull drifted around the sleeping girl and her dozing Liepard, when he decided to try just one more attempt at scaring. Drifting down in front of the girl's face, the Duskull waved his arms, making a loud, echoing groan, the ghastly flame that lit up the inside of his skull glowing just a little brighter, casting a faint red glow on the girl's face.
Maybe he'd be able to scare her and get a little fun out of his night.

Lorelei almost didn't wake up to the Duskull's attempt to scare her. Her sleep was so deep, that the noises that she heard from the Duskull transferred into her dreams. After a short moment, though, she stirred slightly, slowly beginning coming out of her slumber. Not exactly a pleasant wakeup call. But before Lorelei could even force her eyes to open, Nostalgia was awake and really to throw down. He leaped over his human companion, toward the Duskull, snarling and bearing his pearly whites.
The sound of her soulmate's snarling was what finally kicked Lorelei into wakefulness. Her eyes opened, and saw a strange red glow. She flinched backward, and then saw the creature behind the glow- a Duskull. She was about to call for Nostalgia, when she saw that the Liepard was already taking care of the situation. She caught her breath and then stood up, waiting to see how the situation would play out.
(This is definitely not a high-quality post, unfortunately. T_T Sorry.)

As the Duskull drifted around and waved his little arms at the sleeping human, he watched as she began to stir, making him ready to get the thrill he was expecting--to see someone cry out in fear and try to run away from him.
However, he didn't get what he was expecting.
The Liepard that was sleeping on the girl's stomach stirred, its green eyes seeming to pierce straight through the tiny Duskull. The little Pokemon immediately realized he got himself into something serious, and drifted back a few feet. He didn't want to fight, he just wanted to have a little fun!
Seeing the girl stir as well, the Duskull noticed the lack of fear in her eyes, and realized he wasn't going to get his fun. He visibly drooped then, his long, tattered-looking arms drooping, and his skull head looking down, casting a ghostly red light upon the ground.

Lorelei blinked at the suddenly downtrodden Duskull. "...Wait, Nostalgia."
She said, speaking aloud so that the wild ghost-type could hear her, too. Nostalgia gave Lorelei a grumpy look, and then turned and scowled at the Duskull. He finally sat down, and looked away haughtily. Mostly, he was annoyed with himself for falling asleep and leaving Lorelei vulnerable. "Sorry about Stal, he's very protective of me, you see." Lorelei explained with a shrug. She felt bad because the Duskull looked so sad. She didn't like to see anybody be sad, not even Pokemon who had previously not been quite as friendly as Lorelei would hope. However, she didn't quite know what to expect from the wild ghost-type, so she kept her distance. Nostalgia eyed the Duskull out of the corner of his eye. He was about as friendly as his human, but he wasn't quite as trusting. Besides, he had already messed up once this morning, and he wasn't going to do it again. He slowly turned himself so he was facing Lorelei and the wild Pokemon once again.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
