LAFAYETTE cain ROURKE
"Mirror on the wall,
Here we are again..."
NAME:: Whilst his birth name is Lafayette, people often deem that too long of a word to say, so pretty much all his life he has been referred to as 'Loffy'
AGE:: Twenty

POSITIVE TRAITS::[/u] to pretty much anyone and anything

-- Dependable; you can always count of Loffy to complete any task required

-- Sincere; if that blouse is ugly, he will tell you, but in the most kind way imaginable
-- Tolerant; yes, he can put up with rude individuals
[/ul]
NEGATIVE TRAITS::
-- Insecure; Loffy tends to doubt his abilities a lot
-- Introvert; he tends to keep things bottled up
-- Jealous; especially of individuals with great talent, though he will never fess to this
-- Pessimistic; 'if you always expect the worst, when something goes right, it will appear to be a Godsend'
-- Sensitive; he takes things to heart, positive and negative
[/ul]
GOALS::
-- Self; Undoubtedly, by passing up his brother in terms of skill and all together character, Loffy believes he will finally be able to believe he is worth something.
[/ul]
FEARS::
-- Deep Water; Though he does enjoy going to the beach, Loffy will never swim in the ocean, for fear of being swept away. Whatever creatures lay waiting in the murky depths frighten the living Feebas out of him.
-- Separation; Loffy is very quick in forming deep bonds with people, and Pokemon. However, when it's time to part ways, he is always filled with a deep anxiety, for fear he may never see them again. He hates losing anything precious, so to counter this, he keeps pretty much everyone very close to him.

STORY::[/i]
The Rourke family has always been a well off, high middle-class family. Mrs. Rourke, or 'Mother' was an herpetologist, deep in the study of different fragrances applied to Pokemon, and the affects each would have. Her research methods proved to be helpful to countless Professors and fellow Researchers, and helped them achieve a well-known status amongst the surrounding area. Mr. Rourke, 'Father' was equal in his success of helping younger Trainers raise and level-up their Pokemon. Whilst his methods weren't the kindest, they were affective, which is all that mattered to the Rourke's.
A few short years into their marriage, Thaddeus was born. He proved to be their pride and joy, learning quickly, a social butterfly and maturing with an almost unmatched intelligence. In an offspring, Thaddeus was everything the Rourke could have asked for, and didn't think it was possible another could be as great.
Well, they were correct. Six years after the birth of Thaddeus, Lafayette was brought into the picture. He was almost a stark contrast to the older, being more reserved, mellow, and frail. Like the weaker chick in a nest of Mandibuzz, he was cast aside from the adoration of his parents. A cruel upbringing for any child to endure, but Loffy managed somehow.
Thaddeus's and Lafayette's grew from admiration on Loffy's part to be like his older brother, to jealousy, to rivalry. However, their rivalry far surpassed any 'normal sibling rivalry'. Theirs was ruthless, resulting in bloodshed, broken objects or bones, holes in walls, that sort of thing. As to how Lafayette was able to conjure such emotions with his docile state was completely unknown by Mr. and Mrs. Rourke, but they thought little on the matter. If Lafayette was constantly seeking to get his ass kicked by Thaddeus, then so be it. They wouldn't involve themselves, unless it was to take Loffy to the doctor for stitches or a cast. He had never been a good fighter.
As the boys grew older, and developed into more mature individuals, they switched from violent fighting to choice words, Thaddeus of course, being the victor. His way of talking was always degrading to Lafayette, who in turn, took it more seriously than he should have. So when the day finally came when Thaddeus 'flew the coop', or wanted to venture out on his own to feet, Loffy was anything but upset. Perhaps with Teddy now out of the picture, he would finally get the recognition he deserved form his parents. Needless to say, this was not the case. Even with Teddy gone, he was all their parents could talk about, whether in the presence of company, or at the dinner table. Loffy's achievements were practically overlooked, and no matter how greatly he excelled, the blond was always dwindled by the black's great feats.
When Loffy's age equalled that of Teddy's when he had left home, the younger had no other option but to leave as well, lest his parents think he not mature enough or still lacking in independence. Both of these were correct. Even the blond could understand that. In no way or fashion was he ready to leave, but unfortunately, he had no other move to play. So unwillingly, though you would have never been able to tell, Lafayette ventured out on his own. At first, he was forced to do a lot of odd-end jobs, acquiring skills he would need before he fully applied himself to anything. And once again, just how Teddy had done, Loffy sought out employment by being a Ranger, and a novice at that.
It took a while for Loffy to get used to the lifestyle, but luckily he was quick at adapting, and fell into a good rhythm. With Teddy, who even though was a Ranger himself, Loffy had virtually no contact. His mind frame was currently set on the matters at hand, what with the killing of Soulmates and the rising of a dark power. However, Lafayette knows it is only a matter of time before fate brings them into company again.
