LOGAN MAGWITCH
"I WON'T BE COMING HOME TONIGHT
MY GENERATION WILL PUT IT RIGHT
WE'RE NOT JUST MAKING PROMISES
THAT WE KNOW WE'LL NEVER KEEP"NAME:: Logan Magwitch
AGE:: Nineteen
GENDER:: Male
CLASS:: Trainer
BIRTH SEASON:: Winter
ORIENTATION:: HeterosexualPOSITIVE TRAITS::
Logan's no slouch - when he sets his mind to something, he doesn't waste time with idle talk; he dives right in and doesn't let up until he's succeeded. His resolve and determination can become almost infectious at times, spurring on his Pokemon to greater efforts. The downside is that Logan's stubborn adherence to his purposes and goals can descend into single-mindedness, but it remains his main weapon in the struggle to improve and advance.
--[Stoic]
For the sake of his goals, Logan is willing to put himself under great strain without complaining, and what's more is capable of enduring it, through a combination of sheer determination and long-term training. Harking back to his earliest days as a trainer, he would often cross Ithycis Lake by surfing on the back of his Soulmate in order to train in the mountainous environs of Aniferna's Girdle. Thus, Logan has grown into a hardy, disciplined man, physically as well as mentally. Of course, it helped that he could take a good few punches to begin with, a trait reflected by his Soulmate.
--[Ambitious]
Logan will settle for nothing less than being the best. His antagonistic streak dates back to his earliest childhood, when he was enthusiastic for competitive games and sports. As a Pokemon trainer, Logan sets his sights on the very highest of goals: to collect Aniferna's Gym Badges, overcome the Elite 4, and defeat the reigning Champion. He takes a similar attitude in his confrontations with Team Unifi; not contect with merely growing strong enough to keep Ithycis City clear of the organization's influence, he plans to one day take on the Boss himself, and curb-stomp the campaign to 'unite body and soul' at its very root.
--[Perceptive]
Logan has had to learn the hard way that the rush-in-pummel-them-hard-and-hope-for-the-best strategy just doesn't work most of the time. His experiences in battling the senior trainers in Ithycis have taught him that a more cautious approach must be taken in order to work out the opponen's weakness and how best to exploit them. Though he remains a passionate and attack-focused trainer, Logan's attitude in as well as out of battle is one of stoic observation and calculation.
--[Frank]
Regardless of the skills of observation and tactics he has developed over the years, Logan's mind is one that is not suited to deception or dishonesty. His speech and overall behaviour are open and unguarded; if you can get him talking, he will share his thoughts and opinions without reservation. Conversely, Logan has a great dislike for those who habitually deceive or try to lead on other people.
--[Confident]
Logan harbor's little doubt as to his Pokemon's prowess, or his own ability to succeed in the goals he has set for himself. Though Logan's confidence in himself and in his team often goes over the top, its infectious quality encourages his Pokemon to strive to the best of their ability through the gruelling training they undergo alongside their trainer.
--[Spiritual]
Most people are surprised to find that the gruff and pragmatic Logan actually has a deep-rooted belief in what many would term the supernatural. This is mainly due to his upbringing; the Magwitch family, having originally lived in Erenall Town, placed great importance in respecting the spirits of the departed, as well as the shrines erected to honour them. Furthermore, Logan places great stock in the bonds between humans and Pokemon and especially Soulmates, and can be uncharacteristically eloquent when this topic is brought up. Consequently, he has an abiding horror and revulsion of Team Unifi's activities in Ithycis and throughout Aniferna, and makes it a point to confront them wherever he encounters them. He also considers the cultivation of a stable, analytical state of mind through meditation at least as important as physical training; it's just a shame his over-confidence sometimes gets in the way.

NEGATIVE TRAITS::
Logan started out as an outgoing child with a devil-may-care attitude; over the years, he has developed a more pensive frame of mind, thanks to his battles with Ithycis City's more experienced trainer. However, he still maintains a streak of recklesness, and has been known to act rashly and in arrogance when his blood is up. This foolhardy quality of his was what led Logan to attempt to take on his home city's Gym with only his Water-type Soulmate, over and over again for several years, and to keep picking himself up every time he was knocked down.
--[Demanding]
Logan's explicit trust in his Pokemon unfortunately means that he holds rather high expectations of them in terms of their performance, either in training or battle. He often drives his team to the point of exhaustion, believing this will make them more resilient and capable. However, it has to be said that he imposes no ordeal on his Pokemon that he isn't willing to undertake himself; in fact Logan probably sets an even higher standard for himself than for his Pokemon, and has ended many a battle or training session completely knocked out.
--[Arrogant]
Logan's confidence in his own abilities, as well as those of his Pokemon, has an unfortunate tendency of twisting into overbearing arrogance, undermining his capacity to observe and strategise during a battle. Often such moments of arrogance will be followed by a crushing defeat which drags him back down to earth once more. Having cleared his head, however, Logan is usually able to accept defeat humbly, and begin preparing himself and his team for the next challenge. Logan is conscious of this flaw in his character, at least, and tries to dial it down most of the time, but often forgets himself in the heat of the moment.
--[Stern]
Though Logan does not lack a sense of humour by any means, he tends to take a somber view of most things, and upholds himself and his Pokemon to a certain standard of dignity in terms of their behaviour. He applies these standards to those around him as well, and gets ticked off when he sees people behaving in what he considers a frivolous or foolish manner. Logan despises Contests in particular, considering them demeaning to the participating Pokemon as they are forced to pander to the audience for its entertainment.
--[Blunt]
As with many other elements of Logan's personality, his habit of frankness and honesty tends to come back in an unpleasant circle. While Logan will readily speak his thoughts and opinions, anyone conversing with him should be prepared to hear the brutal, and on occasion offensive truth, at least from Logan's perspective. If Logan dislikes you or what you're doing, he'll tell you so in no uncertain terms, which will in all likelyhood be very coarse.
--[Unsocial]
Logan has a tendency to keep himself to himself. While originally he was a fairly social, outgoing kid, as he grew up he became increasingly aware of how sheer bloody annoying the behaviour of the people around him was. In contrast, Logan's bond with his Soulmate and his other Pokemon is all the deeper for this self-imposed separation from most humans, as he genuinely enjoys their company. While he isn't incapable of bonding with humans, Logan is the type of person who is more likely to have a tight-knit circle of comrades, rather than a large number of friends and acquaintances he gets along with.
--[Superstitious]
Logan's spiritual views sometimes come back to bite him in the ass. The Magwitch family, having lived for a long time in Erenall Town, passed on all their beliefs and superstitions to their son, and while Logan usually has no trouble with graveyards and shrines where the souls of humans and Pokemon are interred in peaceful rest, he is sensitive to the presence of malevolent spirits. All Ghost-type Pokemon in general tend to creep him out at best, and at worst terrify him.

GOALS::
Having chosen the arduous path of the Pokemon trainer, Logan has set his heart on the highest goal any trainer could hope to achieve - to become reigning Champion of Aniferna's Pokemon League.
--[To protect Ithycis City and defeat Team Unifi]
Ithycis City has been attracting the illicit activities of Team Unifi for some time now, and having lived there all his life Logan was in a good position to witness their deeds and hear their tract first-hand. Though it's not immediately obvious from his standoffish attitude to most people, Logan has an abiding love for the place he grew up in, and the thought of allowing Team Unifi to run amok there sickens him to the core. Initially, Logan's plan was to venture out into the world, get stronger, build up a good team, maybe pick up a few badges along the way, and kick the gang right out of his city before challenging the rest of the League. However, it's in the nature of Logan's personality to aim for the top, so upon realizing that Team Unifi posed a threat to the Aniferna Region in general, not just Ithycis, his goal became to challenge the Boss himself and bring Unifi down altogether. Don't get him wrong, he's no hero or savior - he just really wants to kick the everliving crap out of the bad guys.

FEARS::
As mentioned above, Logan's spiritual - verging on superstitious - mindset has resulted in an instinctive dread of ghosts. Most shrines and graveyards where humans and Pokemon are interred don't worry him at all, inspiring reverence rather than dread in Logan, but the unmistakable presence of a malevolent spirit sends shivers down his spine and makes him feel cold and weak.
--[Losing his Soulmate]
Logan has an intense spiritual fear of losing his Soulmate in battle. This phobia initially stems from his deep-rooted beliefs in the abstract and supernatural, but witnessing the work of Team Unifi in Ithycis City, and the drone-like state of the Soulmate-less grunts, has only served to amplify it. However, Logan tries to remain undeterred by this fear, channelling it instead into his hatred for Team Unifi while continuing to battle alongside his Soulmate.
--[Being left without a goal]
Logan is man who is heavily defined by the goals he sets for himself and his endeavour to achieve them. He idealizes the struggle to advance, and abhorrs apathy and stagnation. As such Logan dreads the day when he might be left without a goal to pursue, either because he himself has lost his drive to succeed or because he cannot aim any higher.
--[Failing to protect Ithycis]
In spite of his overall dislike for human company, Logan treasures the place he grew up in, though he wouldn't be caught dead admitting as such to anyone but his Soulmate. The possibility that he might return to find Ithycis and its population under Team Unifi's thumb is a recurring nightmare for him, but one Logan has to grit his teeth and bear, until he's strong enough to take on the organization himself.
