The two friends were notorious for causing all sorts of havoc in the Catacombs of Utoron. Very few ever wanted to venture into the disgusting watery subterranean tunnels, especially with all of the dangerous Pokemon that lurked within.
Pokemon like these two.
The large violet snake slithered along one of the drier tunnels, watching as, from the murky water of another tunnel, a large shape manifested, rising up from the water to take the shape of a Pokemon that really had no real shape.
"What bringsss you to thisss part of the Catacombsss?" the Arbok hissed, watching as what appeared to be an arm rose up from the formless goop that was the Muk to point toward the manhole near them.
"Noise. From there. Think someone might come down," Though the Muk wasn't as eloquent as the beautifully deadly Arbok, it got the point across. With that, the Arbok's long, curved fangs glowed a bright purple as it lashed its tail back and forth.
"Let'sss give thisss intruder a proper welcome, hmm?"

The day had started out as any other. Scouting for Unifi, gathering useful intel, and more of less, being a nosy individual. It was basic routine for Edgar, who liked to venture from town to town instead of staying in one set location. Doing so became a bore. He was, after all, still a child. And as much as he hated to admit it, he did seek that thrill of adventure. So, coming to Utron was planned. He was supposed to be spending his time here looking into the Gym Leader, but after finding out she wasn't it town, set out on a sight seeing trip. he did, after all, have some time to kill. The Boardwalk had peaked his interest from the beginning, so of course Edgar set sights for there. However, while enjoying his stay, he had heard people mumbling among themselves about some hidden treasure that had been stashed there way back when. A fable, no? At first, he had payed little attention to the rumors, figuring it was more gossip and wives tales than anything. But, of course, his hidden child like manners got the best of him. Next thing he knew Edgar was sneaking his way to the sewers, using the mental excuse of, 'There is nothing better to do...might as well.'
His lithe frame had been able to slip in through one of the main pipes bars, rather than remove one of the manhole covers. The stench that reached him was awful, and a had quickly went to cover his nose and mouth, while bright eyes adjusted to the murky darkness. Was he really about to do this? Glancing behind him one last time, Edgar took a tentative few steps forward, noting how loudly his heels clicked on the cool cement floor. It echoed down the cylindrical mess of crisscrossing pipes, announcing to whoever that they were no longer alone in the Catacombs. "If I just go straight, I won't get lost." Edgar thought out loud. The darkness was a bit foreboding, so giving himself reassurance. However, just as he was coming to an intersection of woven pipes, he paused, inhaling sharply as he heard voices. Hugging the wall, he peeked around the corner, which he guessed the voices to be coming from. "Just my luck..." He mumbled, touching the Pokeball holding his only current Pokemon absent mindedly. Edgar paused. Why, yes, he did only have one Pokemon. Perhaps it was time he invested in another. Taking the situation and switching it to something positive, he ginned menacingly. Clearing his throat, he rounded the corner, to face the Catacomb duo. "Introductions will not be necessary this time, I'm afraid." He said poshly, resting both hands on his hips. |

The sound of the heels clicking against the concrete floor echoed through the tunnels, causing both the Muk and the Arbok to turn their heads away from the manhole cover they were focused on and to the tunnel directly to their left. Something was there.
However, when the figure, that of a mere child, rounded the corner, the Arbok and Muk just looked at each other.
"Isss thisss child ssseriousss?" the large violet snake hissed to his companion, before turning back to the child, who seemed a little too overconfident for his own good.
"Is stupid child. Does not understand battle," the serpent Pokemon's less-than-eloquent friend replied, sliding forward in front of the Arbok before raising himself up to the same height of the Arbok, if not a little taller. They both noticed that the child had reached for a Pokeball, no doubt holding some kind of Pokemon that he was going to use to attempt to battle him. Both the Arbok and the Muk now prepared for a fight, ready to thrash any opponent that this human decided to throw at them.
